Dear Planet Earth

Updated: May 26, 2020

Dear Planet Earth,

My writing blooms from the deepest roots in my heart. I write to heal you, to embrace you, to thank you but mostly to celebrate you. You have stood through our existence and have given us all attainable resources needed to evolve. How have we thanked you? You give us the particles we need, the breaths we take and the landscapes we value the most. Bragging about you comes easy, we love doing that. We speak of your places like we possess them and take over your oceans to make some good waste of this thing we call money. We too sell parts of you, for money! We cut you, and bomb you, and dig your mountains and burn you, to keep making this thing called money. Let me just tell you, money is a disease and we created it (from your trees, lol). We've abused your abundance and kindness. You have given us fertility and prosperity in your manifestation but we have given no good back.

I'm sorry if I'm upsetting you on your day, Planet. It's not what I meant to make you feel. I really wanted to write to you, because your complexity amazes me. From all the people on the planet, I chose you. You are the prime example of unique. No other has your textures or your colors. There is no need for editing your fragile leaves or the curves of your bodies of water; And may I tell you how I admire your delicacy, i've never seen anyone bloom like spring and dance as passionately as your winds. Taking your coasts as business or your mountains as adventure has been one of the many mistakes we humans have committed. For you were meant to be still. Or maybe you were meant to be disastrous and reproductive and evasive, but we can't tell because that's what we've been to you.

You are the representation of life, you are our lungs and stability. Thank you for the flowers, and bees, and the rocks, and the trees. Thank you for the air, the fire, the water and the spirit. You are a constant reminder of the strength we need. May you keep growing and changing. You are our great mother, our sunlight and our only hope. Without you there is no us, and without us there is more of you. I will take care of you. Thank you for sticking, because any of us would have already left. You are grand, and today we celebrate you for simply being you.

Big hug, and may we unfold brighter days.

Xoxo, Stella.
